My husband really wants us to look into Satellite Star Internet for the house but I’m just not sure it’s a good idea for the kids to have so much access to the web. I don’t want them going in chat rooms or getting on social media sites that are bad for them and I worry about the effect too much TV and all kinds of digital media has on young children. We’ll have to see about it as they get a bit older but he’s already pushing for cell phones and that’s just not going to work for me. I filled up my car the other day, and it almost cost me $50. Now I only have a small Toyota Corolla, and I used to be able to fill it for as low as $35. I looked next to me, and I saw a truck filling up his tank and he was even looking away as the numbers went up. I recently read about a sculpture that is quite interesting. It’s called the “Moto Horse”, and what makes it so different is that it’s made completely from recycled auto parts. I’ve heard of car parts being used to make other items such as sculptures, but I had always thought that they would use non car parts as well. The fact that they only use old car parts is so great because it looks so good, and it also helps make the world a little more environmentally friendly. In addition, the fact that this sculpture looks good and is simply using old material, is simply a great idea.

We are stuck. That is not necessarily a bad thing, just sort of same ole, same ole. We have had our house on the market for some time now and decided to take it off and stay put for a while. With the economy being so bad, we were not getting offers anywhere near what we were asking for it. So we decided to use some of the equity in our house to remodel the kitchen and living room, finish the basement, fence in the yard, and put flooring in our attic to make more room. We also decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and get a home security system installed because our neighborhood is getting older and we have several new neighbors who moved into the foreclosed houses who have been causing some trouble. Nothing major and we still feel safe, but we think with all the money we are fixing to put into our house, a security system would give us peace of mind. My job is the most important thing in the world to me because it gives me a sense of purpose. I love being part of something bigger than myself and my office is the place I feel most like home so you know, I wish I could find a better balance between that and my personal life. I love being with my coworkers and we actually spend a lot of time together when we’re not at work doing things like talking about work and going out to eat and looking into cable tv deals so we can watch games and stuff together – I really wish I could branch out a bit and make more friends outside my office. I love being a productive member of society and an integral member of my work team but at times I feel like I’m putting all my eggs in one basket, so to speak, and I worry that I won’t be able to survive if I get laid off or something.
DeLorean Sells for $541,000 to Benefit Charity
Remember “Back to the Future” with Michael J Fox? Well, one of the first DeLorean DMC-12 cars that appeared in the movie series was auctioned off for Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. It’s great to see that people of means are spending money in this tough economy on things that benefit charity. Sure it’s a sick ride, but hey it’s for a good cause. $541k is a heck of a price to pay for a new toy! What’s the car really worth? Try $30k!
